Dr Vivek Kumar Agnihotri- The quality of food governs our quality of body, quality of mind and quality of soul.
Dietitian Urvashi Chugh- Imagine your body as a car with four wheels. The four wheels are E A R N, that you have to earn it. E stands for exercise, A stands for attitude, R stands for rest and N stands for nutrition. In modern world, fast paced life, we need to balance these four wheels of our body. Exercise can be yoga, zumba, running or cycling. Attitude means accepting our role given by the almighty. Rest is not just the sleep of 7 to 8 hours but it also includes Peace of Mind. In nutrition our cultural food plays a big role Like Dal chawal and desi ghee. So, to have a balanced life and balanced health, we will have to earn it.
Dr Vaidehi Deodhar- The diet of a person should be customised according to the particular individual’s prakriti, the season, the time of the day, and also according to any disease condition of the individual.
Dr Mannat Marwah- Eat only when you are hungry. Fill your 50% of stomach with solid food, 25% with liquid and keep rest 25% of the stomach free. Food should never be cooked in aluminium vessels. Refined food of any kind, whether its refined oil, refined flour (maida), refined sugar or refined salt, should not be taken by anybody. Rather, we should have sarson oil and desi ghee. Moreover, we should include millets in our diet. Year 2023 is being celebrated as ‘International year of millets’. Millets are grown easily and can be stored for longer duration easily. Millets are gluten free and very helpful in management of diabetes and hypertension. Bajra, jwar, maize (makka) and ragi (mandua) are very good to be eaten during winter season. During the summer season, we should include barley (jau), quinoa, amaranthus (chaulai) and oats in our diet.
